Achieve More with Less Effort – Harness Your Subconscious Mind
Are you tired of pushing yourself relentlessly toward your goals, only to feel constantly exhausted and unfulfilled? In this powerful podcast episode, I reveal how joining a group of women transformed our lives by learning the "ART OF BEING A WOMAN." We discovered the secret to achieving more with less effort by harnessing the power of our subconscious minds.
Through this journey, we learned to create clear visions for our futures, allowing our subconscious minds to do the heavy lifting. This approach alleviates the pain and stress of always striving so hard, replacing it with a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
Tune in to find out how you can stop sprinting aimlessly and start achieving your dreams with grace and ease. This episode offers practical exercises and insights that will help you align your goals with your faith, discover your true purpose, and find the peace you've been longing for. When I was drowning with tasks and feeling too busy to feel peaceful, I looked for answers.
I bought planners. I bought habit trackers. I listened to all of the advice about how to squeeze in more life between my schedule’s demands.
And some of that was helpful, because it taught me what doesn’t work. NONE of the little tools are going to work if we haven’t ever been taught how to design a life that FEELS good.
That feels in alignment with our core values.
I’m not going to tell you to add a bunch of new and helpful habits to your life. We’re not going to suggest you add more anything right now!
Most of you listening are probably up to your eyeballs in enough to do.
So we’re going to start with breaking open the foundational concept of designing a life rhythm that helps you feel peaceful right now in your season.

In this episode, we will continue to discuss how to build healthy relationships.Ā
Ā
After all, whether it's your coworker, spouse, or children, so many of our stressors come from relationship dynamics!
Ā
We're going to be sharing real life examples of how to communicate more effectively and use the skill of accountability.

If you didn't catch episode 6 and 7, they are a big precursor to this conversation, so go back and listen to those first.Ā

Grab your 1 day boundaries crash course here
A few years ago, I committed to hosting a potluck dinner from 5-8 pm. Some of my guests chose not to bring food, stayed two hours longer than invited, and asked me to commit to more events while they were at my house. It was exhausting!!Ā Ā
Ā
And sadly, this wasn't a one time or one person thing for me.Ā
Ā
I regularly spent time with people who subtly belittled me or my husband. I spent time with people who guilt-tripped me if things weren't exactly how they wanted. I spent time with people who seemed to not even like me or my personality!Ā
Ā
Why? I simply wasn’t taught any skills or tools to set standards, communicate boundaries, or hold anyone accountable!Ā
Ā
If you’re struggling to feel respected in your own circles or if you’ve been told that you aren’t respectful of others, this episode is for you.

A few years ago, I stopped ā€œputting others before myselfā€ like I was taught.
I found myself in a place where
I was physically and mentally exhausted
I was full of RESENTMENT
I never had enough time
I felt low mood a LOT
I felt like a victim to others and God
Ā
Other Christian women and good coaches showed me that I was completely twisting Scripture when I thought that ā€œputting others before myselfā€ meant that:
1. I couldn’t/shouldn’t say no
2. I needed to keep other people calm/happy
These are classic people-pleasing traits. Christian teaching doesn’t require either. In fact, these behaviors are destructive to an abundant life with God. If you’re still struggling to say ā€œnoā€ when it’s necessary or to do what’s best because someone may feel big feelings, I invite you to listen to today’s show as we really look at the lie we’ve been sold. People pleasing is NOT ā€œputting others before yourself,ā€
But bravo to the enemy for convincing us it was!

Do you ever use scrolling or distracting yourself as a way to avoid what's going on deep inside?Scrolling, keeping myself busy, and numbing out have been big coping strategies for me over the years. As a child, I turned to food to help me feel safe, and when I outgrew that habit, I replaced it with TV, scrolling, and even doing helpful, holy things for my family but in an anxious way that lacked peace.
I had no idea that I was avoiding some under-the-surface emotions. I would look around during my day and think, "I'm not upset in any way. I just have a lot to do."Ā
But why can't I sit still? And why do I need that phone or tv or podcast playing?Ā
'Be still and know that I am God' cannot happen if I cannot be still and quiet.Ā
And it's okay. I’m not broken or weird. We ALL distance ourselves from emotions.
But like any skill, we can learn WHAT to do with them..Ā
Maybe you get still and realize you're really upset with your in-laws. Or maybe you've been building resentment at work. Or maybe you feel really guilty about something you've been avoiding.
We can learn what to do with these feelings so that we can process them, and they will feel small again. Not threatening enough to run from all day.Ā
Today, we’re going to help you slay the dragon of avoiding your own emotions and breaking down how to get back the FREEDOM to ā€œBe still and Know.ā€

My dear clients are always surprised when I discourage them from doing MORE.Ā
Somewhere in our minds, we think life coaches are going to tell us to wake earlier, do more on our lists, and become fulfilled through our achievements.Ā
Can I just say, Gross!
Our success was never about our willpower or discipline. It has always been about feeling safe in our body and mind.
If you grew up, live, or work in an environment where chaos, pressure, or stress abound, it feels wrong to start spending time in a healthy one.Ā
Our minds will literally start creating reasons to sabotage the good we are trying to do, because it doesn't feel as safe and comfy as it did in our old habits.
This is why we resist and sabotage new year's resolutions, habits, and even small promises we make to ourselves. It feels unsafe. (And it's normal!)
So instead of pushing harder or beating yourself up, what if there was a way to help your brain feel safer in the healthy version of you?Ā
What if your brain started to feel SAFER exercising than not exercising?Ā
Or what if your brain felt SAFER communicating with your spouse than avoiding it?
Whatever you're working toward, pushing harder isn't working. You know it, and I know it.
But doing some brain work can!
Ā
This is our focus in this episode of the 'Weekly Fellowship.'
Ā
I'm inviting Audye Gonzalez to share her experience as we help show you how to move out of being 'wired for stress.'In order to put on the mind of Christ, we are going to disengage from a mind of Stress.

How do you know when you’ve maxed out your capacity?
Ā
There are times in my life when I’ve had a wake up call that made me think,
ā€œWhoa, I need to scale back or skill up, because this isn’t sustainable at this point.ā€
Ā
In fact, I recently hit that point in our homeschooling journey.
Ā
There were signs that kept nudging me to make a change, so first I scaled up my own skills. (I reorganized our space, received coaching for my mindset, and incorporated more play into our rhythm.)
Ā
I still needed more support, so I scaled back my personal output in the children’s education and enrolled them in a local school.
Ā
This decision has brought us SO MUCH PEACE.
Ā
Just as much peace as it brought us 2 years ago when we decided to homeschool!
Ā
Today, I’m inviting Anna Saucier to share how to recognize when we have maxed out our capacity and what we can do about it!
Ā
If you're worried that this conversation is going to add more to your plate or make you feel bad about being exhausted, rest assured, you won't find that here.Ā
Ā
Accepting where we are and inviting Jesus into that place is where it all begins.

ā€œAmen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you (Matthew 17:20)
Ā
Even a little bit of faith can move mountains in our lives.
What are your mountains?
Ā
Five years ago, I had faith to move mountains, but I wouldn’t move them, because I thought it was selfish and sinful to even ask.
Ā
Christian culture was saying things like, ā€˜your desires are selfish,’ and ā€˜deny yourself,’ and I totally misunderstood what Scripture really said, so I chose not to move the mountains in my life, and they began to swallow me up.
Ā
If you are looking at the mountains in your life with doubt and fear, my goal today is to show you what is blocking your faith from responding in BIG, MOUNTAIN-MOVING ways.

Let’s goooooo!

Whatā€˜s blocking you from living a peaceful life?
Ā
I asked 100 women this question, and some really painful answers came back…
Ā
pain, illness, marriage, job, money, anxiety…
Ā
Can we find peace when experiencing situations outside of our control?
Ā
YES Ā
Ā
Think about the people you’ve seen overcome hardship and inspire you along the way:
Ā
Those people who smiled at the end of life.
Ā
Or showed faith during cancer or grave illness.
Ā
Or came back from terrible grief even more holy.
Ā
They each found a way to peace amidst the suffering and chaos of life.Ā
Ā
And on the flipside, we’ve also seen people become hardened and hopeless
Ā
Today, I’m glad you’re here with me to take an in depth look at how even in the midst of external hardships, we always play a role in our peace.
Ā
I’m not talking about fake positivity, ā€œjust putting a smile on your face,ā€ or pushing through. I’m talking about actual peace.Ā
Ā
My goal today is to inspire you to see how much power you really have as a woman of faith.

Join the Fellowship, a community for faith-filled women looking for friendship and growth.

Ā

At Rising Tide Fellowship, we bring together growth-minded women of faith to engage in group discussions, book clubs, bible studies, and online courses in order to deepen our knowledge, connect with friends, and inspire each other to be our best.

The community is supported by a coaching collective serving women in a particular season of life.

We believe that women have infinite potential and that by coming together, we can inspire and empower each other to live joyfully, aligned with our God-given design.Ā
